synopsis

This, the second in a series of digital portraits that decompose plants into strips of color, does not present a flower as a static element but rather as a creature of transformation and the passage of time. The organism blossoms vertically through a pulsating surface composed of sound and, once past the boundary between concrete and abstract, explores the spatial potential of colors.

biography

German avantgarde filmmaker Karø Goldt (b. 1967) studied artistic photography in Vienna. In her work, she visualizes the boundaries of substance, space and time. In addition to Lilium, her floral series includes Tulip (2008) and Narcissus (2008).
